lyrics

Squeeze me like a Lemon

After fifty years of marriage the same ole’ thing
Ethel decided she was ready for a change
She bought a book called - Love after Sixty-Five,
When Fred came home later that night
He didn’t know what hit him, she took him by surprise
She sat him down and looked him in the eyes, she said

Squeeze me like a lemon, peel me like a fruit
Wear me out like your favorite pair of boots
Rub me like a lamp with a hot genie inside,
Tease me like the hair on a homecoming queen
Take me like a thief then hold me like a dream
Squeeze me like a lemon, peel me like a fruit tonight

Ethel woke up with a smile on her face
Her hair was a mess and so was the place
She looked at Fred and he just gave her a wink,
He turned on the light then he sat up
Read a few pages out of Ethel’s book
And said “go back to bed my love you’re gonna need your sleep…”

Squeeze me like a lemon, peel me like a fruit
Wear me out like your favorite pair of boots
Rub me like a lamp with a hot genie inside,
Tease me like the hair on a homecoming queen
Take me like a thief then hold me like a dream
Squeeze me like a lemon, peel me like a fruit tonight

A few years later they both pass on
The kids decided they would sell the home
And started going through it one room at a time,
Imagine the look on the their faces
When they found a book with dog-eared pages
And one section heavily underlined….

(Repeat)
